What the GG1189S is
Seen front on, this is an oversized square front that covers a lot of face. It has a full rim all the way round each lens. It rests on a plain single bridge, and the nose rest is part of the frame. Our supplier lists the frame as acetate. Acetate is the plant-based plastic that most designer frames are cut and polished from sheet; it holds deep colour and an optician can re-adjust it with heat. Acetate temples with a metal plaque at the hinge complete the frame. Colour 003 is how Gucci labels this version.
How it fits
The size is 58-17-145: lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimetres. The lens width of 58 mm is large for a sunglasses frame. The pair leaves the supplier exactly as packed by the maker, so a small fit adjustment, if needed, is an optician's job.
What the lens does
Lens colour: brown gradient. A brown tint warms the view slightly and sharpens contrast. A gradient tint, darker at the top than at the bottom. We make no polarization or UV claim for these lenses: the supplier's data does not include one.
