The SF311S, front to temple tip

The photos show an oversized square front that covers a lot of face. It has no rim at all: the bridge and temples mount straight onto the lenses. Across the nose there is a plain single bridge, with adjustable nose pads. Our supplier lists the frame as metal. A metal front is thinner and lighter on the face than acetate. It has metal temples with acetate tips. The branding runs along the outside of the temple. The detail that stands out is the rimless lenses with metal hardware mounts. Colour 745 is how Salvatore Ferragamo labels this version.

Size and fit

Written on the inside of the temple as 60-15-145, those are the lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimetres. The lens width of 60 mm is extra large for a sunglasses frame. The pair leaves the supplier exactly as packed by the maker, so a small fit adjustment, if needed, is an optician's job.

The brown lenses

Brown lenses are fitted. A brown tint warms the view slightly and sharpens contrast. An even, flat tint. We make no polarization or UV claim for these lenses: the supplier's data does not include one.
