A closer look at the SF2064SE

Seen front on, this is a rectangular front, wider than it is tall. There is a full rim all the way round each lens. Across the nose there is a saddle bridge that spreads the weight across the nose, and the nose rest is part of the frame. The frame material is acetate, per the supplier. Acetate is the plant-based plastic that most designer frames are cut and polished from sheet; it holds deep colour and an optician can re-adjust it with heat. It has wide acetate temples. Colour 242 is how Salvatore Ferragamo labels this version.

Size and fit

The size is 51-21-145: lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimetres. A 51 mm lens puts it in the medium range for sunglasses, so check it against a pair you already own. The pair leaves the supplier exactly as packed by the maker, so a small fit adjustment, if needed, is an optician's job.

The blue lenses

Lens colour: blue. A blue tint gives the view a cooler cast. Nothing in the supplier's data says these lenses are polarized or gives a UV rating, so we say neither.
