A closer look at the SF2001S

The photos show a square front with a flat brow and squared corners. The lens is held by a full rim all the way round each lens. Across the nose there is a plain single bridge, and the nose rest is part of the frame. The frame material is acetate, per the supplier. Acetate is the plant-based plastic that most designer frames are cut and polished from sheet; it holds deep colour and an optician can re-adjust it with heat. It has acetate temples. Colour 232 is how Salvatore Ferragamo labels this version.

The numbers on the temple

Written on the inside of the temple as 54-20-145, those are the lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimetres. A 54 mm lens puts it in the medium range for sunglasses, so check it against a pair you already own. If the fit needs a tweak once it arrives, any optician can adjust it; pairs ship exactly as the maker packed them.

Through the lens

Lens colour: brown. A brown tint warms the view slightly and sharpens contrast. The supplier's data carries no polarization or UV rating for this pair, so we claim none.
