What the SF1027S is

In the photos the Salvatore Ferragamo SF1027S is a rectangular front, wider than it is tall. There is a full rim all the way round each lens. Across the nose there is a plain single bridge, and the nose rest is part of the frame. The feed gives the material as plastic. An injected plastic frame is light and springy. Acetate temples with a metal plaque at the hinge complete the frame. Salvatore Ferragamo files this colourway as code 655.

How it fits

Written on the inside of the temple as 55-16-140, those are the lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimetres. At 55 mm across the lens this is a large frame. The pair leaves the supplier exactly as packed by the maker, so a small fit adjustment, if needed, is an optician's job.

Lens colour and finish

Brown gradient lenses are fitted. A brown tint warms the view slightly and sharpens contrast. A gradient tint, darker at the top than at the bottom. Polarization and UV rating are not in the supplier's data for this pair, so neither is claimed here.
