SF1027S: shape and build

What you get is a cat-eye front that lifts at the outer corners. The lens is held by a full rim all the way round each lens. It rests on a plain single bridge, and the nose rest is part of the frame. The feed gives the material as plastic. An injected plastic frame is light and springy. The frame is finished with acetate temples with a metal plaque at the hinge. Salvatore Ferragamo files this colourway as code 214.

Will it fit?

Written on the inside of the temple as 55-16-140, those are the lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimetres. At 55 mm across the lens this is a large frame. The pair leaves the supplier exactly as packed by the maker, so a small fit adjustment, if needed, is an optician's job.

The grey gradient lenses

The lenses are grey gradient. Grey is the neutral tint: it dims light evenly without shifting colours. A gradient tint, darker at the top than at the bottom. No polarization or UV figure comes with this pair from the supplier, and we do not add one.
