A closer look at the SL704
In the photos the Saint Laurent SL704 is a single shield lens across the whole face. The lens is held by a rim along the top only, with the lower edge of the lens left open. Our supplier lists the frame as acetate. Acetate is the plant-based plastic that most designer frames are cut and polished from sheet; it holds deep colour and an optician can re-adjust it with heat. The frame is finished with acetate temples. The branding runs along the outside of the temple. The detail that stands out is the rectangular silver pins at frame corners. Colour 002 is how Saint Laurent labels this version.
Will it fit?
This is a one-piece shield, so the lens width of about 99 mm is the span of the whole lens, and the bridge figure is nominal. The temples are 145 mm. Frames ship as the maker boxed them, without adjustment, and a local optician can fine-tune the fit.
The grey lenses
Grey lenses are fitted. Grey is the neutral tint: it dims light evenly without shifting colours. An even, flat tint. We make no polarization or UV claim for these lenses: the supplier's data does not include one.
Other colours of the SL704
We also carry the SL704 as 001 (Shiny Black with grey lenses) and 003 (Havana with grey lenses), the same frame in other finishes.
