HD00027: shape and build

What you get is a curved wraparound front that follows the face. The lens is held by a full rim all the way round each lens. Across the nose there is a saddle bridge that spreads the weight across the nose, and the nose rest is part of the frame. The frame material is plastic, per the supplier. An injected plastic frame is light and springy. Metal temples with acetate tips complete the frame. Harley Davidson files this colourway as code 90X.

The numbers on the temple

It measures 61-16-125, which is the lens width, then the bridge, then the temple length, all in millimetres. A 61 mm lens puts it in the extra large range for sunglasses, so check it against a pair you already own. No one adjusts the fit before it ships; an optician can tweak the nose and temple bend in minutes.

What the lens does

The lenses are blue mirror. A blue tint gives the view a cooler cast. A mirror coating that hides the eyes and throws glare back. No polarization or UV figure comes with this pair from the supplier, and we do not add one.
