GG1676S: shape and build

Seen front on, this is a squared-off take on the aviator, with a flatter brow and straighter sides. The lens is held by a full rim all the way round each lens. Across the nose there is a double-bar bridge, with adjustable nose pads. The feed gives the material as metal. A metal front is thinner and lighter on the face than acetate. The frame is finished with metal temples with acetate tips. The branding sits on the lens. The detail that stands out is the logo monogram pattern on lenses. Gucci files this colourway as code 005.

Will it fit?

The size is 60-14-145: lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimetres. The lens width of 60 mm is extra large for a sunglasses frame. No one adjusts the fit before it ships; an optician can tweak the nose and temple bend in minutes.

Lens colour and finish

Violet with gg pattern white mirror lenses are fitted. A coloured tint like this is chosen for its look as much as for shade. A mirror coating that hides the eyes and throws glare back. A gradient tint, darker at the top than at the bottom. We make no polarization or UV claim for these lenses: the supplier's data does not include one.
