A closer look at the GG1022S

The photos show an oversized square front that covers a lot of face. It has a full rim all the way round each lens. It rests on a saddle bridge that spreads the weight across the nose, and the nose rest is part of the frame. Our supplier lists the frame as acetate. Acetate is the plant-based plastic that most designer frames are cut and polished from sheet; it holds deep colour and an optician can re-adjust it with heat. The frame is finished with acetate temples with a metal plaque at the hinge. The branding runs along the outside of the temple. The detail that stands out is the gold interlocking logo on temple. Colour 005 is how Gucci labels this version.

Reading the size

It measures 54-23-140, which is the lens width, then the bridge, then the temple length, all in millimetres. At 54 mm across the lens this is a medium frame. If the fit needs a tweak once it arrives, any optician can adjust it; pairs ship exactly as the maker packed them.

Lens colour and finish

The lenses are brown with gold chain. A brown tint warms the view slightly and sharpens contrast. An even, flat tint. We make no polarization or UV claim for these lenses: the supplier's data does not include one.
