FILA SFI280

What the SFI280 is

In the photos the FILA SFI280 is a rectangular front, wider than it is tall. There is a full rim all the way round each lens. Across the nose there is a plain single bridge, and the nose rest is part of the frame. The feed gives the material as acetate. Acetate is the plant-based plastic that most designer frames are cut and polished from sheet; it holds deep colour and an optician can re-adjust it with heat. The frame is finished with acetate temples. Colour 0978 is how FILA labels this version.

How it fits

The size is 60-16-145: lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimetres. A 60 mm lens puts it in the extra large range for sunglasses, so check it against a pair you already own. It ships unadjusted, straight from the box; a quick visit to an optician sorts any fit issue.

What the lens does

Dark brown gradient lenses are fitted. A brown tint warms the view slightly and sharpens contrast. A gradient tint, darker at the top than at the bottom. Polarization and UV rating are not in the supplier's data for this pair, so neither is claimed here.
