The SFI184 at a glance

What you get is a cat-eye front that lifts at the outer corners. It has a full rim all the way round each lens. Across the nose there is a saddle bridge that spreads the weight across the nose, and the nose rest is part of the frame. The feed gives the material as acetate, though in the photos the front looks like injected plastic. The frame is finished with acetate temples. The branding runs along the outside of the temple. Look for the red and white logo on temple. FILA files this colourway as code 0PUR.

The numbers on the temple

It measures 53-19-140, which is the lens width, then the bridge, then the temple length, all in millimetres. At 53 mm across the lens this is a medium frame. Frames ship as the maker boxed them, without adjustment, and a local optician can fine-tune the fit.

The blue mirror lenses

The lenses are blue mirror. A blue tint gives the view a cooler cast. A mirror coating that hides the eyes and throws glare back. Nothing in the supplier's data says these lenses are polarized or gives a UV rating, so we say neither.

Same frame, other colourways

The SFI184 is also listed here as 0HAV (Havana Gradient with brown gradient lenses) and 0BLA (Black with grey lenses). Shape and size are the same; only the finish changes.

You get a new pair in FILA's own box, with whatever case and cloth the brand supplies.
