The ZS24543S at a glance

What you get is a geometric front with angled edges. There is a full rim all the way round each lens. Across the nose there is a plain single bridge, and the nose rest is part of the frame. The frame material is acetate, per the supplier. Acetate is the plant-based plastic that most designer frames are cut and polished from sheet; it holds deep colour and an optician can re-adjust it with heat. It has acetate temples with a metal plaque at the hinge. The branding runs along the outside of the temple. The detail that stands out is the faceted upper rims and horizontal rivets. The colour code is 463, Zeiss's own name for this finish.

The numbers on the temple

It measures 50-21-145, which is the lens width, then the bridge, then the temple length, all in millimetres. A 50 mm lens puts it in the medium range for sunglasses, so check it against a pair you already own. No one adjusts the fit before it ships; an optician can tweak the nose and temple bend in minutes.

What the lens does

Green lenses are fitted. A green tint sits between grey and brown: natural colour with a touch more contrast. An even, flat tint. No polarization or UV figure comes with this pair from the supplier, and we do not add one.

Every pair is brand-new and sold as authentic Zeiss, in the brand's packaging with the case and cloth where Zeiss includes them. Shipping inside the US is free; the supplier packs it on business days, normally within two, and emails tracking. Returns are simple: 30 days, unworn, in the box, refund less our label.
