The FT1282 at a glance

The photos show a butterfly front, wide at the top and tapering down. There is a full rim all the way round each lens. The frame sits on a saddle bridge that spreads the weight across the nose, and the nose rest is part of the frame. The feed gives the material as acetate. Acetate is the plant-based plastic that most designer frames are cut and polished from sheet; it holds deep colour and an optician can re-adjust it with heat. Acetate temples complete the frame. The branding sits on the lens. The detail that stands out is the metal t logo wraps around hinges. The colour code is 52E, Tom Ford's own name for this finish.

Will it fit?

The size is 60-16-135: lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimetres. The lens width of 60 mm is extra large for a sunglasses frame. If the fit needs a tweak once it arrives, any optician can adjust it; pairs ship exactly as the maker packed them.

The brown lenses

Lens colour: brown. A brown tint warms the view slightly and sharpens contrast. A light tint. We make no polarization or UV claim for these lenses: the supplier's data does not include one.

New stock, not display pieces: each pair comes sealed in Tom Ford's packaging with the brand's case and cloth where supplied. Shipping inside the US is free; the supplier packs it on business days, normally within two, and emails tracking. Any pair can come back within 30 days of delivery, unworn and in its packaging; we email the label and deduct its cost from the refund.
