FT1346-F: shape and build

Seen front on, this is a butterfly front, wide at the top and tapering down. The lens is held by a full rim all the way round each lens. It rests on a plain single bridge, and the nose rest is part of the frame. The feed gives the material as acetate. Acetate is the plant-based plastic that most designer frames are cut and polished from sheet; it holds deep colour and an optician can re-adjust it with heat. Acetate temples complete the frame. The branding sits on the lens. Its signature is the metal t logo at hinges and temples. Tom Ford files this colourway as code 52B.

Will it fit?

The size is 53-22-140: lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimetres. The lens width of 53 mm is medium for a sunglasses frame. It ships unadjusted, straight from the box; a quick visit to an optician sorts any fit issue.

Lens colour and finish

The lenses are smoke gradient. Grey is the neutral tint: it dims light evenly without shifting colours. A gradient tint, darker at the top than at the bottom. Nothing in the supplier's data says these lenses are polarized or gives a UV rating, so we say neither.
