FT0317: shape and build
In the photos the Tom Ford FT0317 is a butterfly front, wide at the top and tapering down. It has a full rim all the way round each lens. Across the nose there is a plain single bridge, and the nose rest is part of the frame. The frame material is acetate, per the supplier. Acetate is the plant-based plastic that most designer frames are cut and polished from sheet; it holds deep colour and an optician can re-adjust it with heat. Acetate temples with a metal plaque at the hinge complete the frame. The colour code is 72L, Tom Ford's own name for this finish.
