A closer look at the SL596DUNE

In the photos the Saint Laurent SL596DUNE is the teardrop pilot lens that drops below the brow line. There is a full rim all the way round each lens. Across the nose there is a double-bar bridge, and the nose rest is part of the frame. The feed gives the material as recycled acetate. Recycled acetate is the same sheet-cut material as standard acetate, made with recycled content; it holds colour well and an optician can adjust it with heat. The frame is finished with acetate temples. Colour 006 is how Saint Laurent labels this version.

Will it fit?

The size is 58-14-145: lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimetres. A 58 mm lens puts it in the large range for sunglasses, so check it against a pair you already own. Nobody bends the temples or nose rest before shipping; an optician can do that in a few minutes if the fit is off.

The grey gradient lenses

Grey gradient lenses are fitted. Grey is the neutral tint: it dims light evenly without shifting colours. A gradient tint, darker at the top than at the bottom. No polarization or UV figure comes with this pair from the supplier, and we do not add one.
