A closer look at the MARC803/S
What you get is a cat-eye front that lifts at the outer corners. It has a full rim all the way round each lens. It rests on a plain single bridge, and the nose rest is part of the frame. Our supplier lists the frame as acetate. Acetate is the plant-based plastic that most designer frames are cut and polished from sheet; it holds deep colour and an optician can re-adjust it with heat. Wide acetate temples complete the frame. The colour code is 02M4DG, Marc Jacobs's own name for this finish.
Size and fit
Written on the inside of the temple as 56-16-145, those are the lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimetres. The lens width of 56 mm is large for a sunglasses frame. Nobody bends the temples or nose rest before shipping; an optician can do that in a few minutes if the fit is off.
What the lens does
Grey doubleshade lenses are fitted. Grey is the neutral tint: it dims light evenly without shifting colours. No polarization or UV figure comes with this pair from the supplier, and we do not add one.
The MARC803/S in other finishes
We also carry the MARC803/S as 01JZ9O (Matte Violet with dark grey gradient lenses) and 0086GB (Havana with grey azure lenses), the same frame in other finishes.
What you get, and how it ships
Nothing is opened or handled before you: a new Marc Jacobs pair in the brand's own packaging, with case and cloth when the brand includes them. Within the US it ships free, usually one to two business days after you order, and the tracking number is emailed to you. Any pair can come back within 30 days of delivery, unworn and in its packaging; we email the label and deduct its cost from the refund. Defects, wrong items and transit damage go back free within 7 days.
