The MARC774/S, front to temple tip

What you get is a geometric front with angled edges. There is a full rim all the way round each lens. It rests on a plain single bridge, and the nose rest is part of the frame. Our supplier lists the frame as acetate. Acetate is the plant-based plastic that most designer frames are cut and polished from sheet; it holds deep colour and an optician can re-adjust it with heat. The frame is finished with wide acetate temples. The colour code is 035J9O, Marc Jacobs's own name for this finish.

Reading the size

Written on the inside of the temple as 53-21-145, those are the lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimetres. At 53 mm across the lens this is a medium frame. Frames ship as the maker boxed them, without adjustment, and a local optician can fine-tune the fit.

What the lens does

Dark grey gradient lenses are fitted. Grey is the neutral tint: it dims light evenly without shifting colours. A gradient tint, darker at the top than at the bottom. Polarization and UV rating are not in the supplier's data for this pair, so neither is claimed here.
