A closer look at the LW40132I

In the photos the Loewe LW40132I is the teardrop pilot lens that drops below the brow line. There is a full rim all the way round each lens. Across the nose there is a plain single bridge, and the nose rest is part of the frame. The feed gives the material as acetate. Acetate is the plant-based plastic that most designer frames are cut and polished from sheet; it holds deep colour and an optician can re-adjust it with heat. Wide acetate temples complete the frame. Colour 25G is how Loewe labels this version.

Will it fit?

It measures 65-14-145, which is the lens width, then the bridge, then the temple length, all in millimetres. A 65 mm lens puts it in the extra large range for sunglasses, so check it against a pair you already own. No one adjusts the fit before it ships; an optician can tweak the nose and temple bend in minutes.

What the lens does

Lens colour: brown gold mirror. A brown tint warms the view slightly and sharpens contrast. A mirror coating that hides the eyes and throws glare back. Nothing in the supplier's data says these lenses are polarized or gives a UV rating, so we say neither.
