What the LW40168I is

Seen front on, this is a rectangular front, wider than it is tall. The lens is held by a full rim all the way round each lens. Across the nose there is a saddle bridge that spreads the weight across the nose, and the nose rest is part of the frame. The feed gives the material as acetate. Acetate is the plant-based plastic that most designer frames are cut and polished from sheet; it holds deep colour and an optician can re-adjust it with heat. It has wide acetate temples. The branding runs along the outside of the temple. Look for the white inner border around lenses. The colour code is 52N, Loewe's own name for this finish.

Reading the size

The size is 53-17-145: lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimetres. At 53 mm across the lens this is a medium frame. Frames ship as the maker boxed them, without adjustment, and a local optician can fine-tune the fit.

Lens colour and finish

The lenses are green. A green tint sits between grey and brown: natural colour with a touch more contrast. An even, flat tint. Nothing in the supplier's data says these lenses are polarized or gives a UV rating, so we say neither.
