What the KC1381 is

In the photos the Kenneth Cole Reaction KC1381 is a cat-eye front that lifts at the outer corners. There is a full rim all the way round each lens. Across the nose there is a plain single bridge, and the nose rest is part of the frame. The frame material is plastic, per the supplier. An injected plastic frame is light and springy. The frame is finished with metal temples with acetate tips. Kenneth Cole Reaction files this colourway as code 52F.

The numbers on the temple

It measures 59-17-145, which is the lens width, then the bridge, then the temple length, all in millimetres. A 59 mm lens puts it in the extra large range for sunglasses, so check it against a pair you already own. No one adjusts the fit before it ships; an optician can tweak the nose and temple bend in minutes.

Through the lens

Brown gradient lenses are fitted. A brown tint warms the view slightly and sharpens contrast. A gradient tint, darker at the top than at the bottom. No polarization or UV figure comes with this pair from the supplier, and we do not add one.
