KC1376: shape and build

Seen front on, this is a square front with a flat brow and squared corners. It has a full rim all the way round each lens. The frame sits on a plain single bridge, and the nose rest is part of the frame. Our supplier lists the frame as plastic. An injected plastic frame is light and springy. Acetate temples complete the frame. The branding runs along the outside of the temple. Look for the textured pattern on temples. Kenneth Cole Reaction files this colourway as code 02B.

Size and fit

Written on the inside of the temple as 55-18-145, those are the lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimetres. The lens width of 55 mm is large for a sunglasses frame. No one adjusts the fit before it ships; an optician can tweak the nose and temple bend in minutes.

What the lens does

Smoke gradient lenses are fitted. Grey is the neutral tint: it dims light evenly without shifting colours. A gradient tint, darker at the top than at the bottom. No polarization or UV figure comes with this pair from the supplier, and we do not add one.
