The KC1246, front to temple tip

In the photos the Kenneth Cole Reaction KC1246 is a rectangular front, wider than it is tall. There is a full rim all the way round each lens. It rests on a plain single bridge, and the nose rest is part of the frame. The feed gives the material as plastic. An injected plastic frame is light and springy. The frame is finished with acetate temples with a metal plaque at the hinge. The branding runs along the outside of the temple. Look for the metal triangular hinge detail with rivets. The colour code is 01B, Kenneth Cole Reaction's own name for this finish.

The numbers on the temple

Written on the inside of the temple as 58-17-138, those are the lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimetres. The lens width of 58 mm is large for a sunglasses frame. Frames ship as the maker boxed them, without adjustment, and a local optician can fine-tune the fit.

Through the lens

Smoke gradient lenses are fitted. Grey is the neutral tint: it dims light evenly without shifting colours. A gradient tint, darker at the top than at the bottom. We make no polarization or UV claim for these lenses: the supplier's data does not include one.
