A closer look at the MARLAH/S

What you get is a cat-eye front that lifts at the outer corners. There is a full rim all the way round each lens. Across the nose there is a plain single bridge, and the nose rest is part of the frame. The frame material is acetate, per the supplier. Acetate is the plant-based plastic that most designer frames are cut and polished from sheet; it holds deep colour and an optician can re-adjust it with heat. Acetate temples complete the frame. The colour code is 01EDIB, Kate Spade's own name for this finish.

Will it fit?

The size is 53-17-140: lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimetres. A 53 mm lens puts it in the medium range for sunglasses, so check it against a pair you already own. The pair leaves the supplier exactly as packed by the maker, so a small fit adjustment, if needed, is an optician's job.

Lens colour and finish

Grey green lenses are fitted. Grey is the neutral tint: it dims light evenly without shifting colours. Polarization and UV rating are not in the supplier's data for this pair, so neither is claimed here.
