FRIDA/G/S: shape and build

Seen front on, this is a cat-eye front that lifts at the outer corners. There is a full rim all the way round each lens. Across the nose there is a plain single bridge, and the nose rest is part of the frame. The feed gives the material as acetate. Acetate is the plant-based plastic that most designer frames are cut and polished from sheet; it holds deep colour and an optician can re-adjust it with heat. Acetate temples with a metal plaque at the hinge complete the frame. Colour 08079O is how Kate Spade labels this version.

Size and fit

It measures 54-17-140, which is the lens width, then the bridge, then the temple length, all in millimetres. A 54 mm lens puts it in the medium range for sunglasses, so check it against a pair you already own. It ships unadjusted, straight from the box; a quick visit to an optician sorts any fit issue.

Through the lens

The lenses are dark grey gradient. Grey is the neutral tint: it dims light evenly without shifting colours. A gradient tint, darker at the top than at the bottom. Polarization and UV rating are not in the supplier's data for this pair, so neither is claimed here.

If Black is not your colour

Other versions of the FRIDA/G/S on GlareBear: 0086HA (Havana with brown gradient lenses), 0C9A9O (Red with dark grey gradient lenses) and 0PJP9O (Blue with dark grey gradient lenses). The fit does not change between them.

Shipping and returns, plainly

The pair is new and authentic Kate Spade, and the box, case and cloth are the brand's own where Kate Spade includes them. Shipping inside the US is free; the supplier packs it on business days, normally within two, and emails tracking. Any pair can come back within 30 days of delivery, unworn and in its packaging; we email the label and deduct its cost from the refund. Defects, wrong items and transit damage go back free within 7 days.
