HG1313/S: shape and build
What you get is a squared-off take on the aviator, with a flatter brow and straighter sides. It has a full rim all the way round each lens. It rests on a double-bar bridge, with adjustable nose pads. The frame material is metal, per the supplier. A metal front is thinner and lighter on the face than acetate. The frame is finished with acetate temples. The branding runs along the outside of the temple. Look for the red stripe detail on temples. Hugo files this colourway as code 0003AO.
Size and fit
It measures 56-18-145, which is the lens width, then the bridge, then the temple length, all in millimetres. The lens width of 56 mm is large for a sunglasses frame. No one adjusts the fit before it ships; an optician can tweak the nose and temple bend in minutes.
What the lens does
Red mirror lenses are fitted. A coloured tint like this is chosen for its look as much as for shade. A mirror coating that hides the eyes and throws glare back. The supplier's data carries no polarization or UV rating for this pair, so we claim none.
