What the HG1358/S is

The photos show a square front with a flat brow and squared corners. There is a full rim all the way round each lens. It rests on a saddle bridge that spreads the weight across the nose, and the nose rest is part of the frame. The feed gives the material as acetate. Acetate is the plant-based plastic that most designer frames are cut and polished from sheet; it holds deep colour and an optician can re-adjust it with heat. The frame is finished with acetate temples. The branding runs along the outside of the temple. Look for the translucent blue frame with visible wire core. Colour 0PJPIR is how Hugo labels this version.

The numbers on the temple

It measures 50-22-145, which is the lens width, then the bridge, then the temple length, all in millimetres. A 50 mm lens puts it in the medium range for sunglasses, so check it against a pair you already own. It ships unadjusted, straight from the box; a quick visit to an optician sorts any fit issue.

The grey lenses

The lenses are grey. Grey is the neutral tint: it dims light evenly without shifting colours. An even, flat tint. The supplier's data carries no polarization or UV rating for this pair, so we claim none.
