What the GG1889S is

What you get is a rectangular front, wider than it is tall. It has a full rim all the way round each lens. The frame sits on a plain single bridge, and the nose rest is part of the frame. Our supplier lists the frame as acetate. Acetate is the plant-based plastic that most designer frames are cut and polished from sheet; it holds deep colour and an optician can re-adjust it with heat. The frame is finished with acetate temples with a metal plaque at the hinge. The branding sits on the lens. Look for the red and green stripe detail on temples. Gucci files this colourway as code 001.

How it fits

The size is 51-20-145: lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimetres. A 51 mm lens puts it in the medium range for sunglasses, so check it against a pair you already own. It ships unadjusted, straight from the box; a quick visit to an optician sorts any fit issue.

What the lens does

Grey lenses are fitted. Grey is the neutral tint: it dims light evenly without shifting colours. An even, flat tint. No polarization or UV figure comes with this pair from the supplier, and we do not add one.
