What you get is a rectangular front, wider than it is tall. It has a full rim all the way round each lens. The frame sits on a plain single bridge, and the nose rest is part of the frame. Our supplier's data says acetate for the frame, while the photos read as injected plastic. Wide acetate temples complete the frame. The branding runs along the outside of the temple. Its signature is the raised three-dimensional lettering along temple tops. The colour code is 300925, Dolce & Gabbana's own name for this finish.

The numbers on the temple

Written on the inside of the temple as 56-16-145, those are the lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimetres. A 56 mm lens puts it in the large range for sunglasses, so check it against a pair you already own. The pair leaves the supplier exactly as packed by the maker, so a small fit adjustment, if needed, is an optician's job.

Lens colour and finish

The lenses are dark grey ar blue. Grey is the neutral tint: it dims light evenly without shifting colours. An even, flat tint. Nothing in the supplier's data says these lenses are polarized or gives a UV rating, so we say neither.
