What the DIORPACIFICS1U is

The photos show a rectangular front, wider than it is tall. It has a full rim all the way round each lens. It rests on a saddle bridge that spreads the weight across the nose, and the nose rest is part of the frame. The frame material is acetate, per the supplier. Acetate is the plant-based plastic that most designer frames are cut and polished from sheet; it holds deep colour and an optician can re-adjust it with heat. Wide acetate temples complete the frame. The branding runs along the outside of the temple. Its signature is the star shaped rivets on front corners. Dior files this colourway as code 80B0.

Reading the size

It measures 53-17-140, which is the lens width, then the bridge, then the temple length, all in millimetres. A 53 mm lens puts it in the medium range for sunglasses, so check it against a pair you already own. If the fit needs a tweak once it arrives, any optician can adjust it; pairs ship exactly as the maker packed them.

What the lens does

Blue lenses are fitted. A blue tint gives the view a cooler cast. An even, flat tint. Polarization and UV rating are not in the supplier's data for this pair, so neither is claimed here.

In the box, and getting it to you
