A wire cat-eye that is wider than it looks
The BB0350S takes the cat-eye shape and draws it in the thinnest metal Balenciaga could get away with. The rim is a single bronze-coloured wire that runs all the way round each lens, pulls up to a sharp point at the outer corners, and dips low at the inside edge. The bridge is a short bar of the same wire, with adjustable nose pads behind it, and the temples are wire too, finished with black tips behind the ear. The name is printed small on the right lens. The lenses are large for the style: each is 68 mm across, which is why the frame covers more of the face than the thin rim suggests.
68-16-130: wide lenses, short temples
The size reads 68-16-130, that is lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimeters. A 68 mm lens is at the big end for sunglasses, so the front sits wide on most faces; the 16 mm bridge is average. The temples, at 130 mm, are shorter than most frames use, which suits a small to medium head and keeps the wire temples from poking out behind the ear. Bronze mirror lens, bronze metal frame
