What the AF00034 is

In the photos the Abercrombie & Fitch AF00034 is a square front with a flat brow and squared corners. It has a full rim all the way round each lens. It rests on a plain single bridge, and the nose rest is part of the frame. Our supplier lists the frame as plastic. An injected plastic frame is light and springy. Acetate temples with a metal plaque at the hinge complete the frame. The colour code is 57E, Abercrombie & Fitch's own name for this finish.

The numbers on the temple

It measures 55-17-145, which is the lens width, then the bridge, then the temple length, all in millimetres. The lens width of 55 mm is large for a sunglasses frame. Frames ship as the maker boxed them, without adjustment, and a local optician can fine-tune the fit.

The brown lenses

Brown lenses are fitted. A brown tint warms the view slightly and sharpens contrast. No polarization or UV figure comes with this pair from the supplier, and we do not add one.
