VE4494D: shape and build

The photos show a browline front, heavier along the top than the bottom. There is a full rim all the way round each lens. The frame sits on a plain single bridge, with adjustable nose pads. Our supplier lists the frame as metal/acetate. The front mixes metal and acetate. The frame is finished with acetate temples with a metal plaque at the hinge. The branding runs along the outside of the temple. The detail that stands out is the transparent pink browline with gold metal rim. Versace files this colourway as code 551883.

Reading the size

It measures 56-17-140, which is the lens width, then the bridge, then the temple length, all in millimetres. A 56 mm lens puts it in the large range for sunglasses, so check it against a pair you already own. It ships unadjusted, straight from the box; a quick visit to an optician sorts any fit issue.

What the lens does

Lens colour: dark brown. A brown tint warms the view slightly and sharpens contrast. An even, flat tint. Nothing in the supplier's data says these lenses are polarized or gives a UV rating, so we say neither.
