A closer look at the VE4465

In the photos the Versace VE4465 is a rectangular front, wider than it is tall. It has a full rim all the way round each lens. It rests on a plain single bridge, and the nose rest is part of the frame. The feed gives the material as acetate. Acetate is the plant-based plastic that most designer frames are cut and polished from sheet; it holds deep colour and an optician can re-adjust it with heat. It has acetate temples with a metal plaque at the hinge. The branding runs along the outside of the temple. The detail that stands out is the two-tone frame with silver medusa detail. Written on the inside of the temple as 53-18-145, those are the lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimetres. The lens width of 53 mm is medium for a sunglasses frame. If the fit needs a tweak once it arrives, any optician can adjust it; pairs ship exactly as the maker packed them.

Through the lens

Lens colour: dark grey. Grey is the neutral tint: it dims light evenly without shifting colours. An even, flat tint. Nothing in the supplier's data says these lenses are polarized or gives a UV rating, so we say neither.
