Tom Ford FT1113

What the FT1113 is

The photos show the teardrop pilot lens that drops below the brow line. It has a full rim all the way round each lens. Across the nose there is a plain single bridge, and the nose rest is part of the frame. The feed gives the material as acetate. Acetate is the plant-based plastic that most designer frames are cut and polished from sheet; it holds deep colour and an optician can re-adjust it with heat. It has acetate temples with a metal plaque at the hinge. The colour code is 01A, Tom Ford's own name for this finish.

Size and fit

Written on the inside of the temple as 59-15-135, those are the lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimetres. The lens width of 59 mm is extra large for a sunglasses frame. The pair leaves the supplier exactly as packed by the maker, so a small fit adjustment, if needed, is an optician's job.

Through the lens

Lens colour: smoke. Grey is the neutral tint: it dims light evenly without shifting colours. The supplier's data carries no polarization or UV rating for this pair, so we claim none.
