The FT1110 at a glance

Seen front on, this is a square front with a flat brow and squared corners. There is a full rim all the way round each lens. Across the nose there is a saddle bridge that spreads the weight across the nose, and the nose rest is part of the frame. The feed gives the material as acetate. Acetate is the plant-based plastic that most designer frames are cut and polished from sheet; it holds deep colour and an optician can re-adjust it with heat. Acetate temples complete the frame. The branding sits on the lens. The detail that stands out is the metal t detail at hinges. Colour 52F is how Tom Ford labels this version.

How it fits

The size is 56-14-140: lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimetres. At 56 mm across the lens this is a large frame. The pair leaves the supplier exactly as packed by the maker, so a small fit adjustment, if needed, is an optician's job.

The brown gradient lenses

Lens colour: brown gradient. A brown tint warms the view slightly and sharpens contrast. A gradient tint, darker at the top than at the bottom. No polarization or UV figure comes with this pair from the supplier, and we do not add one.
