A closer look at the FT0757

In the photos the Tom Ford FT0757 is a round lens. There is a full rim all the way round each lens. The frame sits on a double-bar bridge, with adjustable nose pads. The feed gives the material as metal. A metal front is thinner and lighter on the face than acetate. It has thin wire temples. Tom Ford files this colourway as code 28Z.

Size and fit

Written on the inside of the temple as 59-16-140, those are the lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimetres. At 59 mm across the lens this is a extra large frame. Nobody bends the temples or nose rest before shipping; an optician can do that in a few minutes if the fit is off.

Lens colour and finish

Lens colour: striking pink mirror. A coloured tint like this is chosen for its look as much as for shade. A mirror coating that hides the eyes and throws glare back. Nothing in the supplier's data says these lenses are polarized or gives a UV rating, so we say neither.
