The SF2033S at a glance

Seen front on, this is a rectangular front, wider than it is tall. There is a full rim all the way round each lens. Across the nose there is a plain single bridge, and the nose rest is part of the frame. The frame material is acetate, per the supplier. Acetate is the plant-based plastic that most designer frames are cut and polished from sheet; it holds deep colour and an optician can re-adjust it with heat. The frame is finished with acetate temples with a metal plaque at the hinge. Salvatore Ferragamo files this colourway as code 414.

Reading the size

Written on the inside of the temple as 53-20-145, those are the lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimetres. The lens width of 53 mm is medium for a sunglasses frame. No one adjusts the fit before it ships; an optician can tweak the nose and temple bend in minutes.

The blue lenses

Lens colour: blue. A blue tint gives the view a cooler cast. We make no polarization or UV claim for these lenses: the supplier's data does not include one.
