A closer look at the SL529

Seen front on, this is a square front with a flat brow and squared corners. There is a full rim all the way round each lens. The frame sits on a plain single bridge, with adjustable nose pads. The frame material is metal, per the supplier. A metal front is thinner and lighter on the face than acetate. Metal temples with acetate tips complete the frame. The branding runs along the outside of the temple. The detail that stands out is the silver corner accents at hinges. Colour 001 is how Saint Laurent labels this version.

Will it fit?

It measures 52-18-145, which is the lens width, then the bridge, then the temple length, all in millimetres. A 52 mm lens puts it in the medium range for sunglasses, so check it against a pair you already own. No one adjusts the fit before it ships; an optician can tweak the nose and temple bend in minutes.

Through the lens

Lens colour: black. Grey is the neutral tint: it dims light evenly without shifting colours. An even, flat tint. We make no polarization or UV claim for these lenses: the supplier's data does not include one.
