What the SL277 is
Seen front on, this is a cat-eye front that lifts at the outer corners. It has a full rim all the way round each lens. The frame sits on a plain single bridge, and the nose rest is part of the frame. The feed gives the material as acetate. Acetate is the plant-based plastic that most designer frames are cut and polished from sheet; it holds deep colour and an optician can re-adjust it with heat. It has acetate temples. Saint Laurent files this colourway as code 010.
