What the PSSN097 is

In the photos the Paul Smith PSSN097 is a rectangular front, wider than it is tall. The lens is held by a full rim all the way round each lens. It rests on a keyhole bridge, and the nose rest is part of the frame. Our supplier lists the frame as acetate. Acetate is the plant-based plastic that most designer frames are cut and polished from sheet; it holds deep colour and an optician can re-adjust it with heat. The frame is finished with acetate temples. The branding runs along the outside of the temple. Look for the translucent front with contrasting solid black temples. Colour 278 is how Paul Smith labels this version.

How it fits

It measures 51-22-145, which is the lens width, then the bridge, then the temple length, all in millimetres. A 51 mm lens puts it in the medium range for sunglasses, so check it against a pair you already own. It ships unadjusted, straight from the box; a quick visit to an optician sorts any fit issue.

Lens colour and finish

Lens colour: blue to clear gradient. A blue tint gives the view a cooler cast. A gradient tint, darker at the top than at the bottom. Nothing in the supplier's data says these lenses are polarized or gives a UV rating, so we say neither.
