MUA57S: shape and build

In the photos the Miu Miu MUA57S is an oversized square front that covers a lot of face. There is a rim along the bottom only. Across the nose there is a plain single bridge, with adjustable nose pads. Our supplier lists the frame as metal. A metal front is thinner and lighter on the face than acetate. The frame is finished with metal temples. The branding sits on the lens. Look for the curved wire silhouette extending around lens. Miu Miu files this colourway as code 5AK20S.

Will it fit?

Written on the inside of the temple as 57-20-140, those are the lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimetres. A 57 mm lens puts it in the large range for sunglasses, so check it against a pair you already own. Nobody bends the temples or nose rest before shipping; an optician can do that in a few minutes if the fit is off.

Through the lens

The lenses are brown gradient. A brown tint warms the view slightly and sharpens contrast. A gradient tint, darker at the top than at the bottom. Nothing in the supplier's data says these lenses are polarized or gives a UV rating, so we say neither.

You get a new pair in Miu Miu's own box, with whatever case and cloth the brand supplies. Within the US it ships free, usually one to two business days after you order, and the tracking number is emailed to you. You have 30 days from delivery to return it unworn in its packaging for a refund less our return label; a defect, the wrong pair or transit damage goes back free within 7 days.
