MIS0171/S: shape and build

What you get is a cat-eye front that lifts at the outer corners. The lens is held by a full rim all the way round each lens. It rests on a plain single bridge, and the nose rest is part of the frame. Our supplier lists the frame as acetate. Acetate is the plant-based plastic that most designer frames are cut and polished from sheet; it holds deep colour and an optician can re-adjust it with heat. The frame is finished with wide acetate temples. The branding runs along the outside of the temple. Look for the pink triangle accent on patterned temple. The colour code is 01EDJP, Missoni's own name for this finish.

Size and fit

The size is 57-16-140: lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimetres. A 57 mm lens puts it in the large range for sunglasses, so check it against a pair you already own. It ships unadjusted, straight from the box; a quick visit to an optician sorts any fit issue.

Through the lens

The lenses are green pink. A green tint sits between grey and brown: natural colour with a touch more contrast. A gradient tint, darker at the top than at the bottom. The supplier's data carries no polarization or UV rating for this pair, so we claim none.
