MIS0153/S: shape and build

Seen front on, this is a square front with a flat brow and squared corners. There is a full rim all the way round each lens. Across the nose there is a plain single bridge, and the nose rest is part of the frame. Our supplier lists the frame as acetate. Acetate is the plant-based plastic that most designer frames are cut and polished from sheet; it holds deep colour and an optician can re-adjust it with heat. Wide acetate temples complete the frame. The branding runs along the outside of the temple. The detail that stands out is the contrast white temples with zig-zag logo detail. Colour 0KB79O is how Missoni labels this version.

The numbers on the temple

The size is 52-22-140: lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimetres. At 52 mm across the lens this is a medium frame. No one adjusts the fit before it ships; an optician can tweak the nose and temple bend in minutes.

Through the lens

Lens colour: dark grey gradient. Grey is the neutral tint: it dims light evenly without shifting colours. A gradient tint, darker at the top than at the bottom. No polarization or UV figure comes with this pair from the supplier, and we do not add one.
