The MM0101, front to temple tip

What you get is a cat-eye front that lifts at the outer corners. The lens is held by a full rim all the way round each lens. It rests on a plain single bridge, and the nose rest is part of the frame. The frame material is acetate, per the supplier. Acetate is the plant-based plastic that most designer frames are cut and polished from sheet; it holds deep colour and an optician can re-adjust it with heat. The frame is finished with metal temples with acetate tips. Colour 50E is how Max Mara labels this version.

Reading the size

Written on the inside of the temple as 55-16-135, those are the lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimetres. A 55 mm lens puts it in the large range for sunglasses, so check it against a pair you already own. No one adjusts the fit before it ships; an optician can tweak the nose and temple bend in minutes.

What the lens does

Brown lenses are fitted. A brown tint warms the view slightly and sharpens contrast. Nothing in the supplier's data says these lenses are polarized or gives a UV rating, so we say neither.
