The MO0058, front to temple tip

Seen front on, this is a butterfly front, wide at the top and tapering down. It has a full rim all the way round each lens. The frame sits on a saddle bridge that spreads the weight across the nose, and the nose rest is part of the frame. Our supplier's data says plastic for the frame, while the photos read as acetate. It has acetate temples. The branding runs along the outside of the temple. Its signature is the translucent red finish with stepped temples. The colour code is 66T, Max & Co's own name for this finish.

Written on the inside of the temple as 54-20-140, those are the lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimetres. The lens width of 54 mm is medium for a sunglasses frame. If the fit needs a tweak once it arrives, any optician can adjust it; pairs ship exactly as the maker packed them.

Through the lens
