The LO659S at a glance

In the photos the Longchamp LO659S is a cat-eye front that lifts at the outer corners. It has a full rim all the way round each lens. It rests on a saddle bridge that spreads the weight across the nose, and the nose rest is part of the frame. The feed gives the material as plastic. An injected plastic frame is light and springy. Acetate temples with a metal plaque at the hinge complete the frame. Colour 001 is how Longchamp labels this version.

Reading the size

It measures 57-16-140, which is the lens width, then the bridge, then the temple length, all in millimetres. The lens width of 57 mm is large for a sunglasses frame. If the fit needs a tweak once it arrives, any optician can adjust it; pairs ship exactly as the maker packed them.

What the lens does

Grey gradient lenses are fitted. Grey is the neutral tint: it dims light evenly without shifting colours. A gradient tint, darker at the top than at the bottom. Nothing in the supplier's data says these lenses are polarized or gives a UV rating, so we say neither.

In the box, and getting it to you

You get a new pair in Longchamp's own box, with whatever case and cloth the brand supplies. The supplier ships on business days, free to US addresses, normally within two days, and tracking follows by email. Change your mind within 30 days and send it back unworn in its box; the return label we email is deducted from the refund. A defect, wrong item or damage on the way is returned free if reported within 7 days.
