IM0004/S: shape and build

Seen front on, this is a geometric front with angled edges. The lens is held by a full rim all the way round each lens. The frame sits on a saddle bridge that spreads the weight across the nose, and the nose rest is part of the frame. The feed gives the material as acetate. Acetate is the plant-based plastic that most designer frames are cut and polished from sheet; it holds deep colour and an optician can re-adjust it with heat. It has acetate temples. The branding runs along the outside of the temple. The detail that stands out is the hexagonal frame with front dual rivet pins. Colour 008670 is how Isabel Marant labels this version.

Reading the size

Written on the inside of the temple as 52-16-150, those are the lens width, bridge width and temple length in millimetres. At 52 mm across the lens this is a medium frame. Nobody bends the temples or nose rest before shipping; an optician can do that in a few minutes if the fit is off.

Through the lens

Brown lenses are fitted. A brown tint warms the view slightly and sharpens contrast. An even, flat tint. No polarization or UV figure comes with this pair from the supplier, and we do not add one.
