Guess GU8256

What the GU8256 is

Seen front on, this is a squared-off take on the aviator, with a flatter brow and straighter sides. It has a rim along the top only, with the lower edge of the lens left open. It rests on a double-bar bridge, with adjustable nose pads. Our supplier lists the frame as metal. A metal front is thinner and lighter on the face than acetate. The frame is finished with metal temples with acetate tips. Colour 32W is how Guess labels this version.

Reading the size

It measures 66-14-140, which is the lens width, then the bridge, then the temple length, all in millimetres. A 66 mm lens puts it in the extra large range for sunglasses, so check it against a pair you already own. Nobody bends the temples or nose rest before shipping; an optician can do that in a few minutes if the fit is off.

Lens colour and finish

Lens colour: blue gradient. A blue tint gives the view a cooler cast. A gradient tint, darker at the top than at the bottom. Nothing in the supplier's data says these lenses are polarized or gives a UV rating, so we say neither.
